Men's Basketball Falls to John Brown University on the Road

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - In their final game before Thanksgiving break, the Saints dropped a tough one to John Brown on the road by a score of 85-80. Junior Trey Sneed (Edmond, OK/Edmond Memorial High School) led Randall with 22 points on 10-15 shooting. Sneed also grabbed 6 rebounds for the Saints. Second in scoring was junior Ben Collier (McAlester, OK/Southwestern Christian University) with 15 points, totaling a season high for Collier. Kashus Lyons (Abilene, TX/Abilene Christian High School) was the only other Saints player in double figures with 11, as the scoring remained fairly balanced behind Sneed and Collier. 17 Saints turnovers led to 21 points off turnovers for the Golden Eagles, which proved to be too much to overcome for Randall.

1st Half: The Saints jumped out early on the Golden Eagles thanks to some excellent defense, taking a 27-14 lead on a Collier made three with 8:05 remaining in the first half. However, Randall struggled both offensively and defensively the final 8 minutes and went to the half down 42-36.

2nd Half: After ending the first half on a 28-9 run, the Golden Eagles started the second half with a 16-2 run in the first four minutes of the second half, giving John Brown a 58-38 lead with 15:41 remaining in the game. The Saints then launched a 10-0 run, aided by two steals, to cut the lead to 58-48. The Saints continued to battle back, cutting the lead to three with a bucket in the paint from Isaac Bowles (Detroit, MI/Crossroads College) with 3:25 left. The game remained close from then on, getting as close as 78-80 with 0:56 left in the game after a bucket by Sneed. Timely buckets from the Golden Eagles, however, kept Randall from completing the comeback, and the game finished at 85-80 in favor of John Brown.

Up next for the Saints is a home game on Friday, December 2 against Ozark Christian.
