Strong Start Leads to Dominant Randall Win over Dallas Christian

DALLAS, Tx. - The Saints traveled to Dallas to take on Southwest Region opponent Dallas Christian College. After taking an early 20-0 lead about 6 minutes into the game, the Saints controlled play throughout, never allowing the lead to drop below 15. Randall's defensive dominance continued, outside of a few nice runs by Dallas, and they rolled to a 86-65 win. Randall was lead by Kashus Lyons, who went for 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Trey Sneed contributed a double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Isaac Bowles came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds along with his 5 points. Another big contributer off the bench was Brandon Askew, who scored 8 points while shooting 2-2 from three, and grabbed 3 rebounds. Anthony Williams was a rebound short of his own double-double, scoring 10 with 9 rebounds.

1st Half - The half started about as well as it could have for the Saints. After a scoreless first two minutes, Xavier Hunter got the scoring started with a couple made free throw. Lyons followed that up with a made 3-pointer, which really got things going for Randall. The Saints can score in bunches, and proved that with a 20-0 start with just over 14 minutes left in the half. Back to back 3's from Ben Collier and Lyons put the Saints up 51-23 with 1:24 remaining in the first half. The Crusaders scored 6 quick points late in the half to leave it at 53-29 at halftime. Kashus Lyons had 18 of his 20 points in the first half, shooting 6-8 from 3 in the half.

2nd Half - As has so often plagued the Saints this season, they started out slow in the second half. Dallas Christian opened with a 7-0 run before Wiliams was able to make a layup, making the score 55-36. The score hovered around 20 points until a Dallas 3 made it 62-47 with 13:25 to play. This was as close as the Crusaders would get, and Randall was able to extend the lead back up to 67-47 on a Sneed layup. The Lead remained above 20 for the majority of the half, and the Saints cruised to an 86-65 win.

Next up the Saints will travel to Barclay College on Monday the 23rd.
