Trey Sneed Wins 2nd Straight National Player of the Year Award

ANKENY, Ia. - Last year as a Sophomore, Trey Sneed won the first ever NCCAA DII Men's Basketball National Player of the Year award in the history of Randall University. Tuesday night Trey was once again given the honor of National Player of the Year. Sneed is only the second player in NCCAA history to receive the award in back-to-back seasons. Trey followed up his stellar sophomore campaign with another incredible year as a Junior in 2016-2017. Sneed lead the Saints with 18.3 points per game, while shooting 49.8% from the field. Trey was also third in rebounding with 6.0 rebounds per game, and lead the Saints in blocks with 1.1 per game.

The 6'4" Junior was gracious and humble when asked about receiving the top award for the second straight season. "First, I want to thank God. Because none of this is possible without Him," said Sneed. "I also would like to thank my teammates for pushing me in practice every day, and my coaches for believing in me."

Trey's head coach Mark Berokoff had plenty to say about his star Junior forward. " Anytime you have a player that has won the National Player of the Year Award two times, it tells you that you have a very special player that is doing special things for your team. Trey has already accomplished some great things for our program." Berokoff continued, "This season Trey has had some great games against some very good teams at higher levels. His biggest performances have come in the biggest games of the year." Sneed will now lead the Saints in their pursuit of back-to-back National Championships.
