Randall Basketball to Host Kids & Dreams Autism Awareness Night

MOORE, Okla. - Friday night Men's and Women's Basketball will play host to Ozark Christian College. The Women will play at 5:30, with the Men's game to follow at 7:30. This night will be about more than basketball, as it is Randall's annual Autism Awareness Night, hosted by the Kids & Dreams Foundation.

"The Kids & Dreams Foundation provides support to children of all ages and their families dealing with autism, bullying and other challenges faced by today's children. We seek to enrich the lives of the kids by locating and providing the resources that will help each reach their full potential in life."

The foundation provides support through an Autism Conference, Operation Shine Camp for kids ages 7-12 with autism and taking motivational/anti-bullying speakers into schools along with other ways to provide resources & options to families.
  • About 1 in 68 children has a been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC's Autism & Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network.
  • 63% of youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder say they have been a victim of bullying.
  • Every 7 minutes a child is bullied
  • ASD is almost 5 times more common in boys (1 in 42) than among girls (1 in 189)
Ozark Christian also works with the Kid's & Dreams Foundation, making the night special for both schools. Kid's & Dreams Founder and Executive Director Aaron Bly will be present, and anyone interested in the foundation or how they can help will be able to speak with Aaron, or can check out their website at kidsanddreams.com

Homecoming will also be taking place during halftime of the Men's game, so come out and support the Saints, and help us raise awareness for Autism.
