Men's Basketball Wins Region Championship & Secures #1 Seed at Nationals

JOPLIN, Mo. - With a commanding 97-77 win over 3 seed Arlington Baptist, Randall University Men's Basketball secured their trip to South Carolina for the National Tournament. Senior Guard Xavier Hunter lead the way with 36 points in the title game. Senior Forward Trey Sneed provided 16 points to go along with his 7 rebounds, and Isaac Bowles lead the Saints in rebounding with 9. The Saints were able to take control of the game after halftime, and proved too much for Arlington as 5 different players finished with double figures in scoring.

Head Coach Mark Berokoff earned the 100th win of his college coaching career over the weekend. He has accomplished the feat in only 6 seasons. Mark is trying to make it to his fourth straight National Championship Game, and win his third in a row.

The Saints finished the season undefeated against NCCAA opponents, and have been the number 1 team in the national poll each week this year. All of that lead to Randall being granted the number one seed at the National Tournament, where they will play last years national runner up Kentucky Christian. Last season in the National Championship, Randall defeated Kentucky Christian 90-76 to win their second straight National Championship. This year they will play in the first round, as Kentucky was given the final at-large bid to the tournament after falling to Grace Bible in their Region Semifinal.
