Trey Sneed Wins 3rd Straight National Player of the Year Award

GREENVILLE, SC. - For the third straight season, Senior Forward Trey Sneed (Edmond, OK/Edmond Memorial High School) has been named the National Player of the Year (POY) by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) DII. The Athletics Banquet took place two days before the National Tournament began, and the Saints received numerous awards. Senior Forward Ben Collier (McAlester, OK/McAlester High School) was named an Academic All-American for the second straight year. Junior Guard Kashus Lyons (Abilene, TX/Abilene Christian High School) was named to the All-American Third Team, and Senior Guard Xavier Hunter (Oklahoma City, OK/Del City High School) was named to the All-American Second Team. Sneed was also announced as a First Team All-American; then when the National Player of the Year award was announced his name was called for the third straight season, making him the first three time POY in NCCAA DII history.

Sneed averaged 19.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in his senior season, while shooting 52.8% from the field. When asked about receiving the POY award for the third straight year, Sneed said, "I want to thank God because none of this is possible without Him. I also want to thank my Mom and my family for their support, as well as my coaches and teammates." All of Trey's coaches love coaching him, and Head Coach Mark Berokoff had this to say. "A player like Trey doesn't come around very often. The honors and awards he has received at the NCCAA level put him at the elite of the elite in NCCAA DII history. He has been an absolute joy to coach." Sneed will be missed greatly by Randall as he is set to graduate with a Business degree in December. Sneed ends his career with an impressive list of awards. Three time National Player of the Year, three time First-Team All-American, three time Southwest Region Player of the Year, three time National Champion, and two time National Tournament MVP.
