Saints Top The Stars

Saints Top The Stars

Moore, OK - Yesterday at 7:30 PM the Saints took on Oklahoma City University.  OCU came into the game with a 5-1 record and looked to improve it.  However, the Saints had an answer for that.  The Saints got their momentum going after Jordan Marshall scored the first points of the game with a dunk.  The first half was back and forth for the majority of the time.  The Saints had a deficit of 39-36 at the end of the half.  The Second half was very similar with tight scoring.  The Saints edged a lead early in the half and maintained it all the way to the end.  Things became hectic down the wire as Anthony Davis missed one out of his two free throws to keep OCU down by one.  Soon after Arin Taylor drew a foul and sank back to back free-throws bumping the Saints lead up to three.  OCU got off a three in the final seconds but the Saints defense forced a miss.  The Saints beat the Stars with a score of 70-67.  Jordan Marshall led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Brent clark also finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  The Saints all around defensive performance held a top NAIA school to only 67 points, their second lowest scoring game of the season.

After the game Coach Berokoff stated "Incredibly proud of our team and what makes me even more proud is how well our student body came together in a big game.  We showed what Saints Nation was really all about."
