MOORE, Okla. - Last season Men's Soccer entered the Region Tournament eying a region title and a trip to the National Tournament. An early exit following a loss to rival Manhattan and the semifinal ended those dreams, and has motivated the team and 2nd year Head Coach Nick McMillian. "We are more skilled than we were last season," said Coach McMillian. "Our technical skill and speed has improved a lot thanks to a lot of new players we brought in." One of those new players is Italian International Freshman Eric Saula. Sala is an extremely talented Forward who provides an incredible touch when finishing. Coach McMillian raves about Sala's technical skill, and what he can bring to the team on the attack. "Eric trained with AC Milan's academy back in Italy, and his incredible technical skill shows the results of that." Freshman Rogelio Loera from Amarillo, Texas brings the team some new talent in net as well. Coach McMillian loves his footwork and great hands saying, "he has the potential to start all 18 games in net as a Freshmen." 

Randall won't be all newcomers however, as they return some of the top talent from last year. Cristian Ruiz was the leading goalscorer in 2016, and looks to join with the new players for an even more successful season this year. Ruiz is a D2 transfer from Puerto Rico, and as one of only 2 seniors on the young roster this year, Coach McMillian is looking forward to him stepping into a leadership roll. "We are excited to have Ruiz back this season, and look forward to the leadership he will provide for our young talent, as well as the great production he gives us on the field." Randall also returns Sophomore Brayden Carter. Last season as a Freshman, Carter was second on the team in goals with 17, finishing one behind Ruiz. Coach McMillian appreciates what a great Freshman year Carter had, but also speaks highly of his potential, and how great of a player he can become. 

After last years season ending loss to Manhattan, it is no surprise that the matchup on October 17 in Manhattan, Kansas is circled on the schedule. "It's the last game of the regular season for us," said Coach McMillian, "and we have some unfinished business after losing to them in the semifinal last year." Along with Manhattan, the team is looking forward to their season opener at Nebraska Christian on August 21. "That game will really show us where we are at as a team against a first year NAIA program." The goal this year for Men's Soccer is to win the Regional Tournament for the first time in almost 10 years, and then "make a splash" at the National Tournament. 

Randall starts it's season on the road on August 21 at Nebraska Christian. The first home game will be Saturday September 9 against KCC at 3:00 PM.
