Randall Women Win Region Tournament Opener

MOORE, Ok. - After landing the number 2 seed in the Southwest Region, hosts Randall University Women's Basketball took on 7 seed Ozark Christian College in the quarterfinals. The Saints took control early and cruised to an easy 64-36 win in their third matchup of the year against the Ambassadors. Randall forced Ozark into 31 turnovers, which allowed them to overcome a poor shooting night. Saints leading season scorer, Junior Gabbie Parsons, topped lead the team with 15 points. Junior Morgan Fletcher was the only other Saint in double digits with 11 points. Junior Tiffani Burns was third in scoring with 9 points while also grabbing 5 rebounds. 

1st Quarter - Tiffani Burns scored 5 of her 9 points in the first quarter, getting to the line 4 times. Senior Julia Garrard dominated the quarter inside with 4 points and 4 rebounds. The Saints put the defensive pressure on right off the bat, grabbing 8 steals and forcing 12 turnovers in the opening 10 minutes. 

2nd Quarter - Parsons dominated the second quarter, scoring 8 points while shooting 2-3 from the 3-point line. Fletcher added 5 points off the bench in the quarter.

3rd Quarter - The Saints had a balanced attack in the 3rd quarter, and dominated Ozark 19-5 as the second half opened. Parsons lead the Saints with 5 points in the 3rd. 

4th Quarter - Ozark outscored Randall in the 4th quarter 13-7, as the Saints cruised to their 64-36 victory. 

Up next for the Saints is a Southwest Region semifinal matchup against 3 seed Dallas Christian.
