Macy Leads Randall to Victory on Senior Night

MOORE, Okla. - Randall University Volleyball played out their final home game of the season Tuesday night, finishing the regular season strong with a commanding 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) over NAIA D1 University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). Randall was once again led by lone Senior Kristen Macy (Edmond, OK/Edmond Memorial HS). As the lone Senior on Senior Night, all of the attention was on the Outside Hitter, and she didn't disappoint. Giving the Saints 9 kills, along with 9 digs. Macy, closing in on 2,000 kills for her career, was assisted on the night by Sophomore Setter Erika Styne (Arlington, TX/Mansfield Lake Ridge HS), who contributed an incredible 31 of the Saints 33 assists on the night.

The Saints were dominant from the beginning, using a relatively balanced effort to control the entire match vs. their scholarship level opponents. Every player but one got a kill for the Saints, and they excelled defensively as well, never allowing USAO to reach 20 points in a set. Freshman Libero Maegan Plunk (Rowlett, TX/Lakeview Centennial HS) led the way with 25 digs, which was a major part of the effort keeping USAO from getting any rhythm going.

Up next for the Saints is the Region Tournament this weekend at Manhattan Christian, where they are the #1 seed. The Saints will play the winner of the Dallas Christian/Barclay matchup on Friday, November 3, for a trip to the Region Championship game on Saturday. Randall would clinch a birth to the National Tournament in South Carolina by winning the Region Tournament this weekend.
