The Lady Saints traveled to Ankeny, IA this past weekend for Spikefest. Saints open the tournament against Ozark Christian winning the match 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-18, 25-17.) earning the Saints their first win of the season. The Saints continued their winning streak Friday night by defeating Oak Hills Christian 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12) After day one of the tournament Coach Freeman thoughts about getting the first win under their belts,  "Our team is starting to play as a team. Supporting each other on good plays and bad plays. We're starting to learn our strengths. We have a tough one tomorrow and hopefully take our good points into that match. It's a fun group to be a part of."

Second day starts off against Maranatha Baptist. Saints lost 3-0 (11-25, 22-25, 18-25.) After the lost the Lady Saints played against Manhattan Christian for 3rd place. Saints swept 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-23) earning them 3rd in the tournament. Coach Freeman had high praises for his team "It was good to apply in games what we've worked on in practices. Everyone contributed in our final match. It was nice to see the team effort. Our only loss was to the team that won the tournament. We'll be much improved when we see them again. This tournament showed us a glimpse of what we can accomplish when we work together."

Shout out to Junior, Erika Styne for making the All-Tournament Team. The Saints are 3-3 on the season and back in action Friday the 7th at the Oklahoma Wesleyan Tournament.
