MOORE, Okla. - Last season Randall Women's Soccer went to the National Tournament and shocked the country. Down to only 10 players, they gave the number 1 team in the nation a great game, before beating Maranatha Baptist in the 3rd place game. This season, Head Coach Tony Willetts brought in 8 new freshmen to prevent that disadvantage from happening again. "We have more athleticism and IQ than either of the previous two years of Randall Women's Soccer. This group is most talented, athletic, and intelligent group of girls that I've coached since I've been coaching collegiately." Said Coach Willetts. 

Among those freshmen is Forward Zoe Rose. Rose is from Tulsa, OK, and coach Willetts believes she is an NCAA DI caliber player. "We are extremely blessed to have Zoe here at Randall. Along with being a phenominal soccer player, she excels as a student as well. Rose's creativity combines with her talent to really set her apart as an attacker. She is used to getting herself open, which in turn creates a lot of openings for teammates."

Rose and the rest of the freshmen class join a solid group of returners, headlined by NCCAA DII and NSCAA All-American Lucia Avila. Last season, Avila played defense, winning defensive player of the week on her way to All-American honors. This year, Avila is moving to forward, and coach Willets anticipates her contributing thanks to her energy and enthusiasm, as well as the positive influence she will have on the younger players. Sophomore Madi Harris returns as the teams goalkeeper, and looks to follow up an excellent performance at the national tournament last year. Harris made 43 saves in two games, including the win in the third place game vs. Maranatha. "She's fit and healthy," said coach Willett's, "and she's ready to lead the team on the whole defensive side." Randall also returns Jordan Farrar, formerly Jordan Huereca, who comes back to Randall after transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma. Farrar, now married, will be moving from forward to defense this year, and will be able to utilize her attacking skills on the counter. 

On October 17th, Coach Willetts is looking forward to playing at Maranatha. "By then we will be battled tested, and ready for an opportunity to show the rest of the NCCAA how we stand up against the rest of the nation." Coach Willetts is also excited for a matchup against Oklahoma Wesleyan on September 5th. "My daughter is a senior there, so I am excited not only to coach against her, but simply to get to watch her play." 

The program is looking to build off a strong National Tournament performance last year, and take a shot at winning the whole thing this year. "We want to go down to Bob Jones for nationals in my home state of South Carolina, and have a chance to celebrate winning the title at midfield."

Randall's first game is August 18th, and their first home game will be August 23 against Seminole State.
