The Women's Soccer team has come along way from 24 months ago when they didn't have enough games to even compete in regionals. They also didn't have enough players on the roster to field a full team playing opponents 11 on 9 and 11 on 10 on a regular basis. Coach Byron Gutierrez in his second year as coach went out and really breathed new life into the program, recruiting hard and bringing the roster up to 19. That has really helped with fatigue, injury and morale and it showed today as the Saints completed the 2 year turn around and are now Southwest Region Champions.
Next stop...KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA and the NCCAA National Tournament.
